Have you ever wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater?
If you want to try scuba diving but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba is for you.
This experience allows you to try scuba diving in shallow water with an experienced instructor. While not an actual scuba certification, Discover Scuba is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. Discover Scuba occurs at Blue Heron Bridge at Phil Foster Park or a local swimming pool. The location will depend on the ages and comfort level of the participants, as well as the ocean tides.
This course is open to future scuba divers 10 years and older.
What You'll Learn:
Learn what wearing scuba equipment feels like and how easy it is to move around underwater while wearing it.
Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater.
Learn some basic skills and safety rules that will carry over to your full scuba certification course when you take the next step towards Open Water Diver certification.
Requirements for Discover Scuba:
1. You must be 10 years old and students under 18 must have signed parental consent.
2. You must be able to swim 200 yards continuously and do a 10-minute tread of water.
