Become a Certified Scuba Diver
Ready to become a certified scuba diver? The Open Water Diver course gives you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to dive safely and independently with a buddy.
You'll complete online academics, learn essential scuba skills in confined water, and then put those skills into practice during open water dives. Once certified, you'll be ready to begin a lifetime of underwater adventures.

Your Open Water Certification Has Three Stages
1.
Knowledge Development:
Online academic materials are purchased separately. We offer NAUI, SDI, PADI, and SSI eLearning options. Contact us to select the right program and for current pricing.
Complete your online academics at your own pace before your in-person training begins. Once finished, we’ll schedule a course orientation to review key concepts, complete required paperwork, provide an equipment briefing, and discuss what to expect during your pool and open water training sessions.

Confined Water Training (Pool):
Now it’s time to get in the water! During your pool training, you’ll become comfortable using your scuba equipment while learning and practicing essential diving skills, including mask clearing, regulator skills, underwater communication, buoyancy control, and more.
3.
Open Water Training Dives:
The adventure begins! During your open water training dives, you’ll put the skills you learned in the pool into practice in a real diving environment. With your instructor by your side, you’ll complete four open water dives while building confidence, improving your skills, and working toward your Open Water certification.

Course Requirements
1. Minimum age: 10 years old (parental consent required for participants under 18).
2. Demonstrate basic water skills, including a 200-yard continuous swim and a 10-minute float or tread.
3. Complete the required medical questionnaire before training. Physician approval may be required based on your responses.
